Ridgefield Park Animal Hospital is a small practice that many pet owners around New Jersey and New York rely on. While I was working there, I partnered with another product designer to revamp the entire website in order to make it easier to navigate for our clients.
Previous Homepage Header
There was no scroll bar here so this looked like all of the links the website had to offer.
It is understandable to make the appointment button easy to find but this took up too much space that should have been used for other important information that clients will try to find.
New Homepage Header
The new header is easy to navigate for new and returning clients. There are two visible buttons to make an appointment and other information that clients would be looking for are separated into groups.
Previous About Us
The main issue I wanted to fix before revising the sentences was how much space this entire section took on the website. Realigning the section to the middle and getting rid of the bullet point to condense the information together would lead to a more inviting experience to clients.
New About Us
The revised section is more inviting because of its simplicity. I only kept the key information that should be available in the home page such as the location and what kind of animal hospital it is. The old website had too much information that bloated the section and made it more likely to be skipped over by clients.
Previous Services Shown on Homepage
The previous list of services was not intentionally organized as many of the services shown are uncommon and not what most visitors would be looking for. The services should have been separated into more general groups that clients can click on to learn more about.
New Services Shown on Homepage
The new services section shows the most common services that clients come into the hospital for so that website visitors can easily find the information they are looking for.
Old Services Webpage
The dedicated webpage for services should list all types of care the animal hospital can provide for pets. Even though the old webpage lists some common services that pets come into the hospital for, there are still several common procedures that are missing such as dentistry and vaccinations.
New Services Webpage
The redone webpage has dedicated sections for each service the hospital provides to educate clients on how the hospital handles the procedures and why they are important for pet health.
This is an example of one of the detailed webpages made for each of the services. Each page is intentionally written to showcase important details first. In this case, I wanted to make sure that clients understand how important oral care is and how it can prevent many issues in pets if maintained at home.
